Three Flags Classic

I’ve done this ride three times so far.  1998, 1999 and the 25th running in 2000 which was an extra day.

The 45th running of the Three Flags Classic is a rally type ride, held over Labor Day weekend, is limited to about 300 riders and takes place in three countries, Mexico, US, and Canada. All riders are given a suggested route to follow and leave at the same place on the same day in a window of time. You then have 3 checkpoints to get your booklet stamped along with a gas receipt from the checkpoint town within the window of time they are open. Click for more detailed on Rules or History.

It typically routes from Mexico to Canada, and this year is no different.  We will be starting in Puerto PeƱasco, Mexico on September 1 with the following checkpoints:

SEP 01 Friday: Kanab, UT Checkpoint 1
SEP 02 Saturday: Idaho Falls, ID Checkpoint 2
SEP 03 Sunday: Sandpoint, ID Checkpoint 3
SEP 04 Monday: Calgary, Can  Finish

The route is a little over 2,000 miles.  On September 5 is a day to relax and have our banquet that evening.  Then we will make our way home.
